Seattle Sounders FC has revealed their new away kit for the 2025 and 2026 MLS seasons, officially dubbed the “The Salish Sea Kit.” The design draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest’s rich coastal heritage, featuring a color palette and patterns that evoke the region’s maritime culture. Not only that, the Rave Green collaborated with indigenous artists representing the Puyallup, Muckleshoot and Suquamish Native American Tribes in order to bring out the best of the Coast Salish weaving traditions in their away kit.
Not only that, the club, in their statement, revealed that they are set to donate proceeds of up to $50,000 from the first 30 days to preserve the cultural heritage of tribal communities.
“We are proud to present The Salish Sea Kit – a jersey that embodies the Sounders FC spirit and our region’s deep cultural and environmental ties,” said Sounders FC President of Business Operations Hugh Weber. “Collaborating with Connie McCloud, Gail White Eagle and Danielle Morsette, artists and weavers from the Puyallup, Muckleshoot and Suquamish Tribes, has been an extraordinary honor. This kit is more than what we wear on the pitch, it is a testament to partnership, stewardship and our shared responsibility to protect the Salish Sea for generations to come.”

Created by Adidas, the Sounders "Salish Sea Kit" features a deep navy blue base color, reminiscent of the Pacific Ocean. Overlaid on this is an intricate pattern of geometric shapes in varying shades of blue and turquoise which have been inspired by the textile patterns of coastal weavers. The Sounders' crest is displayed on the left chest while the primary sponsor, Providence, is placed on the center of the chest in blue letters.
WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR SEATTLE SOUNDERS?
The Sounders finished fourth in the Western Conference at the end of the 2024 season. They then beat Houston Dynamo (on penalties) in Round One of the playoffs and then LAFC in the Conference semifinals to set up a clash against the Galaxy in the Conference finals. However, in a tight fought contest, the Rave Green lost 1-0 to the eventual MLS Cup Champions.
While that did break a few hearts, the Sounders have bounced back well so far through a stellar preseason. The club are currently gearing up for a busy start to their 2025 campaign, balancing their Concacaf Champions Cup Round One tie against Antigua GFC with their MLS season opener against Charlotte FC. The two-legged continental fixture sandwiches the domestic curtain-raiser.
