Tottenham meanwhile are desperate for someone to take the pressure off Harry Kane, who has played a simply ridiculous amount of football over the last 18 months.
The signings of Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente certainly didn’t help, and Depay’s ability to score goals from anywhere across the attack could be a huge boost for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Able to drive forward from midfield and create, trick his way past defenders on the wing or score goals from a central position, he is basically Erik Lamela with far superior end product.
