Liverpool have confirmed the £40million capture of Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chelsea fans don’t seem to pleased about it.
The Blues thought they got their man earlier in the week but it is believed Oxlade-Chamberlain had rejected the chance to sign Chelsea because he could not be guaranteed a role in central midfield, instead being told he would be played as a wing-back.
But the England international has instead opted to sign for Liverpoool, reportedly for less money than he was offered to stay at Arsenal.
Chelsea fans aren’t normally used to seeing their club miss out on signings, particularly to a direct Premier League rival. They’re not 100% sure how to take it, either.
Some seem worried that it’s not just Oxlade-Chamberlain they’re missing out on, others are urging club owner Roman Abramovich to start doing some business while others think it’s pretty typical of the club.
