Many would have assumed that young Jordan Rossiter would get chances in the first team at Rangers following Steven Gerrard’s appointment as manager.
The pair were teammates at Liverpool, albeit the latter was more of an iconic figure for Rossiter while he was developing his game in the academy.
The 21-year-old signed for the Gers in 2016, but he has only managed to rack up 11 appearances in total.
Injury has played a part in Rossiter’s lack of minutes in Scotland, and he is yet to make an appearance this season.
It seems that Gerrard does not envisage the midfielder being part of the club’s European campaign as the young player has not been included in the squad for the Europa League group stage.
Even though Rossiter is still in the early stages of his career, he will continue to slip down the pecking order if injuries pile up.

With that being said, should Rangers cut the midfielder loose in the next transfer window?
