England veteran David Beckham is confident his country will win the right to host the 2018 World Cup when the final decision is announced in Zurich on Thursday.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid hero is acting as an ambassador for the Three Lions and he is confident the showpiece will be awarded despite Russia's bid and Spain and Portugal's joint effort rumoured to be the more likely destinations.
With Prince William and Prime Minister David Cameron also in Switzerland meeting FIFA executive committee members, Beckham hopes the team can influence the individuals that matter most.
"I think we can trust every one of the members. At the end of the day they are football people," he said.
"They are going to want a World Cup in the best country that they think could host the biggest sporting event in the world. Without a doubt we can trust them.
"I have met a few members. I would rather keep who I have actually met private, but I met a few of the members last night.
"I was working with the Prime Minister and Prince William until late on last night. I know this morning Prince William was up at 7 or 7.30 having breakfast with one of the members."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
