Patrick Bamford’s performance against Millwall on Tuesday somewhat epitomised his season so far, with it very much being a tale of two halves.
The opening period saw the Whites go 2-0 down and the forward failed to get involved enough for his side, putting in the kind of display that has led to frequent criticism from supporters this term.
However, it didn’t take long for him and his teammates to get back on track in the second half, and Bamford showcased his brilliant poaching ability with two close-range goals that were vital to securing victory.

After the match there was plenty of praise for his performance from Leeds fans, and if he continues to deliver he should make it difficult for Jean-Kevin Augustin to break into the team.
That kind of competition for places is exactly what the Whites need in order to challenge for promotion, as it should motivate each player to perform to their best possible standard.
It wasn’t just on the ball where Bamford proved effective. So often this season he has made himself a nuisance for defenders and he did so once again at Elland Road with his pressing ability.
Supporters acknowledge his harassment of the Millwall goalkeeper late on which prevented Bartosz Bialkowski from launching the ball upfield in the dying seconds, showing that the 26-year-old contributes defensively as well as in attack.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
